Soil sequestration and reforestation projects worldwide are generating millions of pounds annually in carbon credits. Farmers across the world are helping combat climate change by locking carbon into their land whilst reaping financial benefits and building positive public image of their farms. We want to offer the same opportunities to UK farmers and invite you to participate in our programme.
As part of a large consortium, One Carbon World (OCW) have secured £3 million funding from the EU Horizon 2020 project to help UK farmers receive compensation as a reward for sustainable farming. Each farm is eligible to claim compensation for soil sequestration and planting woodlands whilst supporting UK businesses to achieve net zero emissions.
For our first intake onto the compensation programme, we are inviting farmers who already manage their soils for improved carbon sequestration. We will be launching tree planting initiatives in 2021. If that sounds like you, please sign up today and access an additional long term income.
OCW has an annual target of compensating farmers and landowners in charge of a collective 20,000 hectares that are suitable for carbon sequestration projects. To get there, we’re building a portfolio of projects that can be used to offset emissions of businesses across the UK by generating verified carbon credits which can be sold to UK businesses to support their net zero agenda.
One Carbon World (OCW) is a global resource partner with the United Nations Climate Neutral Now Initiative. They are recognised for offering advice and support on measuring and reducing greenhouse gas emissions of various organisations around the world.
Agriculture and Horticulture Development Board (AHDB) inspires farmers, growers and industry to succeed in a rapidly changing world, equipping the industry with easy to use, practical know-how, which they can apply straight away to make better decisions and improve their performance.
